The Highland Dance Competition at the Saline Celtic Festival is held within the festival now being held at the Washtenaw Farm Council grounds. Our new venue offers FREE ON-SITE PARKING, an enclosed competition facility and... indoor flush toilets. :^)

The Dance Competition is a premier event offering trophies and cash prizes as well as full access to the Celtic Festival. With plenty of room to settle in and a wide variety of Festival activities, it is a family friendly event.

We will be offering a solo Pre-Premier/Premier Choreography Competition immediately following the Pre-Premier competition - the approximate start time is noon. (Primary awards will be presented before this event.)

THERE IS A MAXIMUM OF SIX REGISTRATIONS FOR THESE COMPETITIONS!

Performance is limited to 1-minute 30-seconds including entrance, exit and staging of props.

Festival admission tickets cannot be purchased through this dance competition registration. A link to advance ticket sales will be included in the confirmation you will receive immediately following your check out for the dance competition.


*Festival admission tickets purchased in advance can be redeemed at the Highland Dance check-in gate. Only cash will be accepted at the dancer check-in gate for festival admission tickets ($18.00). NO CREDIT CARDS AT THE DANCER CHECK-IN GATE! Festival admission tickets can be purchased using a credit card ($18.00) at the main entrance gate - AFTER IT OPENS AT 10:00 am.

I hereby, for myself, my heirs, executors, and administrators, waive and release any and all rights and claims I may have for damages against the Saline Celtic Festival, its agents or representatives, for any injuries which may be suffered by me or my child in competition or while on the grounds during the competition or performance.

Furthermore, I grant full permission to the Saline Celtic Festival to use any photographs, videos or other types of recordings of me in any advertising, trade or any commercial purpose in accounts and promotions of this event. I waive the right to inspect versions of my image used for publication or the written copy used with the accounts and promotion of the Event. Signature of participant or parent/guardian if dancer is under 18 years of age.

RULES PROCEDURES

  1. The dance competition will conform to RSOBHD rules and standards. The decision of the Judge is final.
  2. The dancers are required to have a 2024 registration cards.
  3. Dancers will compete in their age groups according to their age on July 13, 2024.
  4. The competition committee reserves the right to combine or divide classes depending upon entries received.
  5. Dancers entering the competition first will dance last.
  6. A trophy will be awarded to the highest aggregate point winner in each age group. No trophy for Primary.
  7. The “Most Promising Dancer" will be awarded in each “Pre-Premier" group based on judges' decision.
  8. Communication with the judge or piper regarding the competition, by the competitor or other interested parties is not allowed.
  9. Dancers must be ready and appear when called. Dancers failing to do so will forfeit their chance to dance in that event.
  10. Dancers must be in costume to receive awards.
  11. No field entries accepted.

Is there parking at the event?

FREE ON-SITE PARKING is located at the Celtic Festival grounds - 5055 Ann Arbor-Saline Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48103.

When does registration close?

Registration closes at 11:45pm on July 7, 2024.

What can I bring into the event?

Small coolers, lawn chairs are acceptable. The event is in a roofed open building with ample space, airflow & dressing room facilities. You can bring your pop-up canopy but probably won't need it.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No. Dancer registration and advance Festival tickets will be on lists with the check-in staff.

Cancellation Policy:

An event can only be canceled by the venue and/or event organizer. If the venue or event organizer cancels an event, you will be refunded within 4 business days of the event date for your purchase.
