Shine Delirious - Bringing the epic splendor of classic Yes music to the stage is no easy feat. From the contrapuntal singing, to the ripping guitar riffs, to the deconstructionist and forward-thinking rhythms and more. It is a lot to tackle.
Formed in 2012, San Francisco’s Shine Delirious was named in honor of Chris squire and signature bass solo ‘schindleria praematurus’. This name embraces the challenge, passion and love Shine Delirious delivers in every performance. Like Yes itself, any Shine Delirious performance is full of wonder, complexity, invention, emotion, and sheer joy.
Guitarist Gorden Mack (guitar/vocals) gained fame with with 5 albums on 4AD Records featured on movie soundtracks for films such as Vanilla Sky, Excess Baggage and The Girl Next Door. He currently performs up and down the west coast with Shine Delirious, Disciplined (King Crimson Tribute) and his original ‘punkadelic power-trio’ Trez Maschine.
Chris Meek (bass/vocals) is an experienced and talented strning player, teacher and guitar tech / builder, currently performing with Stung (Police Tribute), Livewire, Junior Deville Blues Band and sitting in with some of the areas greatest players.
Karla Downey (lead vocals) Karla grew up playing drums and singing in several groups throughout California as a headliner as well as opening shows for Tower Of Power, Eddie Money, BTO, Jefferson Starship, and others. Over the years her experience spread out to include a Jazz Vocal Ensemble, 10- and 11-piece show bands, and musical -theater. In recent years she has performed with the Purple Ones (prince Tribute), The Killer Queens (Queen Tribute), and Slinky Thing (steely Dan Tribute).
Jace Grey (keys/vocals) Jace has been playing the piano since 1970, and quietly woodshedding Yes since he first heard Close to the Edge in 1981. Jace was a featured solo performer at “Cruise to the Edge” in 2015. Jace’s Keyboards and vocals are Shine Delirious’ secret weapon, filling out the massive sounds of Yes.
John Giambalvo (drums/vocals) started a life of music almost from birth with five siblings all playing various instruments. He got his first drumset at age 8, and started band in his tweens playing originals and covers of the Beatles and LedZepplin. He settled in to a firm love of all things Prog Rock by age 12. John spent the 90’s playing with the Prog trio China Lake in and around Southern California before moving up north.
Rarely do such great musicians integrate so well, carving out their sonic positions while acting in clear support of eachother's intrumentation and vocals.
