Vanity Lane: A Dream Ballet Experience, Act 1: The Masquerade, will be performed during a live taping and streamed as a virtual fundraising concert for the musical film and visual album celebrating the original ballet, Vanity Lane. The classical ballet made its sold-out debut at Harvard University in March 2018. Written, produced, and performed by La'Toya Princess Jackson, the ballet tells a touching story of an insecure princess from an ancient African land and features diverse princesses from the African diaspora. Each princess reflects their own cultural identity and represents their kingdoms from 6 different realms.

Join our lead princess in the live taping for Act I of Vanity Lane: A Dream Ballet Experience on a journey of self-discovery and realization. Gabby Preston, Harvard Black Community and Student Theatre, described the show as “The ArchAndroid meets Alvin Ailey and Apollonia, then goes to Oz, only to find the witches instead of the Wiz.”

“The concert is a way to reimagine everything about how we perceive Black people in performative spaces, particularly in fields like ballet;” says LaPrincess Entertainment Group CEO, LaToya Princess Jackson. She says the benefit concert and ballet experience will help her company to continue to produce creative works and media that allow Black creatives to see themselves represented in a magical and enchanting light—ultimately inspiring them to dream bigger.   

This live taping and virtual concert of Vanity Lane: A Dream Ballet Experience includes performances from guests artists Nadyne Bispo (Atlanta Ballet), Tyla Howell (Georgia Ballet), Chryssy Luu (staibdance), Summer McNeill (Dance Canvas), Raven Wilder, Jewel Ellis, Brianna Mack, Hunter Willis, Morgan Woods, Ashlyn Macie, Erin Parchment and other talented Black ballerinas. The film will include additional appearances from PacePoetry, songstress Jae Franklin, Mickie Charette and Broadway darling Judith Franklin (Motown the Musical, TINA, Summer: The Donna Summer Musical). Music composed and produced by Gordon Williams, Jared Hettrick, Paul Sayed, Emmanuel TheMaestro, DJ Payday, Jae & Princess.

Virtual tickets are $25.00; and live VIP tickets are $50.00. The VIP experience includes a book signing of the coloring book (coloring books sold separately) and pictures with the cast.
