Although the Model T was famously produced off Woodward Avenue in Highland Park, the birthplace and ideation of the Model T happened right in Detroit's New Center and Milwaukee Junction neighborhoods. On this walking tour, we will experience the past, present and future of this iconic Detroit area, going back in time passing the historic Piquette Avenue Plant and other historic factories that are finding new purpose.

Total Walking Distance: ~2 miles

Tour Duration: 2 hours

Weather Policy:

Tours will occur indefinitely, rain or shine, unless weather prohibits transportation or adversely affects our partners on the date of the tour for the time of the tour. Weather related cancellation or ticket transfer requests will not be approved unless submitted at least 72 hours in advance of the event start time. If a severe weather event causes the tour to be canceled, City Institute will offer to transfer participant tickets to another date or provide a refund.

Parking:

Free on-street parking is available on Milwaukee, Brush and Beaubien, adjacent to the starting point.
