4 – Hour River Trips on the Scenic Sandusky River

Our 4-Hour Paddling Adventures provide an extended experience for those wanting a longer paddling day. Options to include a relaxing stop with a delicious Yak-Sack lunch or Yak-Snack.

RESERVATION POLICY

River Trip reservations require a 100% prepayment. A Reservation guarantees you boats on your chosen day and time. Reservations are always recommended as we are only open on weekends to the public. PLEASE RESERVE A MINIMUM OF 2-HOURS AHEAD OF TIME FOR ANY TRIP YOU ARE INTERESTED IN.

PRICING – See below – Our pricing includes a Ghoul Runnings qualified guide or experienced kayaker traveling with you whenever possible or available.

WAIVERS of LIABILITY - are required to be filled out and signed by all as part of our Insurance policy. We will email you a LINK for an EASY to fill out SMART WAIVER form. If you do this prior to your trip it will save you time when checking in the day of the event.

TIPPING – At the end of your trip, if you had a great time or your guide went above and beyond… cash tips are always appreciated!

DISCOUNTS - You automatically save $5.00 by booking in advance online (At the door pricing is $5.00 more) We also offer our Military/Veteran card carrying service folks and youthful Seniors ages 60 and up with valid ID a FREE Bottled Water or Soda and 20% off any merchandise in the store. GROUPS of 10 or more will also receive a discount but must be booked under our GROUP FORM and 48-hours in advance.

We offer the following options for rentals based upon availability

Single Kayaks (47) 8-10 ft. Both sit-in and sit-on-top styles that will carry a person up to 250-275 lbs. First come/first serve on these boats $55.00

Single XL Kayaks (3) 13 Ft. – Will accommodate up to 500 lbs. - $65.00

NEW – Single KOKOPELLI Brand Rubber Pack -Rafts (17) Military grade adventure series boats that will hold up to 300 lbs. $55.00

Tandem Kayaks (6) We currently have 6 of these. Our Tandem Kayaks will hold 2 people and in some cases 2 adults and a child based upon size and weight. Our tandems will hold 400 to 500 lbs. $110.00

Single Dedicated Fishing Kayaks (5) We currently have 5 of these… bring your own Fishing Poles, bait and tackle - $55.00

Add a Child or small adult – A Tandem Kayak must be purchased in order to select this option - $30.00 (Must be 5 or above to do our river trips)

Bring your own Kayak – We will shuttle your personal kayak & gear provided there is room, our kayak rentals take priority - $40.00 for this service

DOGS – We do allow dogs in a kayak… but they must have their own Pet Life Jacket and be on a leash while riding the Shuttle and being put into the boat. - $10.00 per dog fee is required and a signed waiver of liability.

FOOD: * ALL FOOD CHOICES MUST BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE ONLINE A MINIMUM OF 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE SO WE HAVE PROPER TIME TO FULFILL YOUR NEEDS

*YAK-SACK LUNCH - HAM – Includes a Ham and Cheese Sandwich, chips, cookie, apple and a bottled water or propel/Crystal Lt - $7.00

*YAK-SACK LUNCH – TURKEY – Includes a Turkey and Cheese Sandwich, chips, cookie, apple & a bottled water or propel/Crystal lt - $7.00

*YAK-SACK LUNCH – VEGETARIAN – Includes a Peanut Butter/Jelly Sandwich, chips, cookie, apple & a water or propel/crystal lt - $6.00

*YAK-SNACK – Includes choice of Protein Bar or Trail Mix, Apple and a bottled water or propel/Crystal Lt. - $4.00

*SPECIAL DIETARY or ALLERGY INSTRUCTIONS… please email us after making your selections and we will accommodate your needs as best we can.

CAN YOU BRING YOUR OWN FOOD OR BEVERAGES… Yes of course… but no glass bottles and we suggest soft sided coolers and as always… please be respectful of our river and her banks and do not litter.

RIVER TRIP AVAILABILITY will vary day to day and even hour to hour. We consistently watch water levels, river currents, weather as well as consider the skill level of all paddlers when confirming the perfect River Trip Experience for you and/or your group.

Some of our 4-hour trip options include the following routes: (You can request a certain trip, but it will depend on the factors above as to whether we can confirm this trip for you on the day of your outing)

• Steryer Nature Preserve to Wolf Creek – 7 miles – approximately 4 hours
• Wolf Creek to Sand Docks – 8.5 miles – approximately 4 hours (Very challenging section between A-Frame and Roger Young Park, portaging during certain times of year is possible as well as category 2-3 rapids depending on water levels, etc…)
• Sand Docks to Shorewood Village – 6 miles – approximately 4 hours
• Memory Marina to mouth of the Sandusky Bay/Lake Erie take out – Muddy Creek – 8 miles – approximately 4-5 hours

RECOMMENDED FOR: Intermediate and/or Advanced Paddlers

AGES: Adults, Seniors, Teens, Youth, Children – 10 and up with an adult may take out a single kayak – Ages – 5-9 are suggested to ride with an adult in a Tandem Kayak. We also reserve the right to provide canoes instead of kayaks based upon availability of our Tandem Kayaks.

MINIMUM of 4 paddlers is required for us to shuttle a River Trip – 1-3 paddlers will be considered but will require an additional fee. (Additional fee is $5 p.p. up to 4 people… example… if only 2 are on the trip… they would need to pay $5 ea or $10 total) We will do all we can to combine singles and couples to meet our minimum requirements. It may require you to be flexible on your departure days or times.

WE PROVIDE: Watercraft, Life Jackets, Paddles, Helmets (For certain routes) and whistles for all rentals

HAVE YOUR OWN KAYAK and/or GEAR: We are more than happy to “piggy-back” you and your watercraft with one of our tours for the fee listed. (Only single kayaks will be shuttled… no personal tandems or canoes)

DID YOU FORGET YOUR LIFE JACKET OR PADDLE? We can rent you ours for $5.00 each – No worries!

Days/Hours of Operation: Memorial Weekend thru mid-September – (Weather Permitting) Bob… are these times okay to start with?

Fridays: 1:00pm or 3:00pm

Saturdays: 9:00am or 2:00pm

Sundays: 9:00am or 2:00pm

Other days of the week or times are also an option for groups of 10 or more people – please contact us and we will check our schedules and if we can accommodate you we certainly will!
