THE DYNAMIC MONTAGE:

A lot of improvisers think of the montage as the thing we do when we're too lazy to do a form. People forget the montage is a form. It has a beginning and end so it has structure, it slows down and it speeds up so it has a tempo, it can have an emotional through line or a narrative. There are so many things to do with it other than a mixed bag of random scenes. Whether you come to this workshop with your teammates or individually we will explore the Dynamic Montage, the 2 person scene, the group scene, the blackout, yes the blackout!; the edits, the organic edits, the tag runs and which ideas or characters to follow. We will use all these things for one purpose: to make your next montage unpredictable to your audience, your teammates and you. This is a fast paced workshop so don't expect to be sitting down half the time, we warm up for our montages by doing montages!
