Yuppie Liberation Front is a Bay Area-based collective of like-minded young composers and musicians. Founded in 2018, the band has been playing nightclubs, bars and private events all over Northern California from San Jose to Chico. The lineup features players from San Leandro, Vallejo, Vacaville and Sonoma.

The band plays music in a variety of jazz styles with a focus on back-beat, groove-oriented feels, and cites classic R&B, Latino soul, lo-fi hip hop, stretch music and funk as influences.

Bandleader and trumpeter Thomas Molina enjoys combining otherwise disparate styles, as well as arranging standards and popular music. He encourages his bandmates to bring in their own tunes, on which the whole team then collaborates.

Their compositional approach refers to Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, Charles Mingus and Wayne Shorter, as well as contemporary artists such as Christian Scott, Theo Crocker, Marquis Hill and Keyon Harrold.
