"DIAMOND DOLLS" BACKSTORY
The 1950’s was a flourishing time for Dancers, Promoters/Venues favored entertainment with various flavors, a sentiment which immediately carries over to the Diamond Dolls, modeled after a 50's Style Variety Show, complete with a foldover program, meaning: Opening Act, 1st Group Slot, 2nd Group Slot, 1st Group Reprise Slot, and Closing Acts. This model was popular for a while amongst various nightclubs who wanted to create a high energy spectacle, emphasizing the variety.

VENUE - EL CID on Sunset
Since its creation in 1962, El Cid has been the premiere venue for Flamenco dancers in Los Angeles, and one of the very best in the entire world. El Cid was founded by dancers sick of not being able to best represent their desired artforms, so they formed their own venue and it now continues as a premiere event space in Silverlake.
