Come join us and explore new displays, new research and the jail that Dillinger found a way to escape from. Make your way through the jail from the small cell Dillinger was kept in through the guard walks of the jail right out the kitchen door ! Follow his footsteps to the garage where he stole his getaway car, and then take a picture with the car! We will gather in the courtroom in the Criminal Courts building next door where Dillinger learned he would be staying at the Lake County Jail, and our speakers will paint a picture for you what was really happening in the Gangster Era with the most hardened criminals, some of who were behind the bars of our jail ! Because of space limitations in the jail, there are tickets for morning tours and tickets for afternoon tours.
