Josephine Howell Sings on Juneteenth

The Seasons Performance Hall

No upcoming date/times for this event.

The Seasons Performance Hall is proud to invite all in our community to join us for a Sunday Supper Celebration of a new Juneteenth Holiday that celebrates the June 19, 1865 date of the elimination of the last vestiges of slavery in the U.S. The celebration will begin with a slide show and "in memoriam" for the losses of local African American families suffered during the COVID shutdown played during a moving 'a capella' rendering of a traditional gospel hymn by Seattle vocalist, Josephine Howell.

The evening then progresses to a gospel chorus, and blues set with back up singers and band, and finally to Jazz. A journey through the traditions of music that changed music in America and the world through the infusion of African American musical and rhythmic styles. Dinner offerings through the Bistro will feature some special dishes from traditional family style dinners in the African American Community. As well as drinks for adults and children.
