What's better than a movie? Two of them of course!

And what about an entirely new music score for for Charlie Chaplin's "City Lights" composed by one of America's foremost opera composers, Daron Hagen? And played by The Seasons Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Aaron Hirsch?

And what about a screening of an award-winning short movie "Orson Rehearsed" produced by Hagen that is winning important cinema awards around the globe right after the Chaplin?

Better yet, it will all be preceded by an optional "My Dinner with Daron" in the Bistro at 5:30 — a table talk and dinner service from our new Autumn menu. A chance to meet a true renaissance man, composer and filmmaker and former director of The Seasons Music Festival. Hagen, inspired leader of our momentous Fall Festival years (2007 - 2012) and composer of several important chamber works that were given world premieres in The Seasons Performance Hall. Hagen returns to Yakima to help the Seasons Performance Hall celebrate our 16th anniversary with a Hagen musical and filmic double feature:

  • 5:30 PM (Optional, in the Bistro with choices from our new Autumn menu.) "My Dinner with Daron", during which Seasons Director Pat Strosahl and Fall Festival Artistic Director Hagen (and you!) will discuss the festival’s legacy and Hagen’s scores for the Chaplin film and the Orson Welles-inspired opera film Orson Rehearsed.
  • 7:00 PM: A Chaplin Symphony, performed live by Aaron Hirsch and the Seasons Festival Chamber Orchestra to a screening of Charlie Chaplin’s "City Lights"
  • 8:30 PM Orson RehearsedWashington screening premiere of an award winning short film produced and scored by Hagen.
