Foster the People meets The 1975. That's perhaps the simplest way to describe sophisticated arrangements and harmonies that have come to define The BGP. Merging the classic tones of Mic Fleetwood and Michael McD with a modern digital aesthetic, The BGP brings to life a stage experience that is one part session musicianship, and one part child-like-joy. Says Greg Roth of Seattle Music Insider, "The truth is The BGP defies categorization. Oh sure you hear the influences but the boys have their own thing goin’ on and have for several years."
A brotherhood hailing from the ‘Fair town’ of Puyallup, WA, The BGP is lead by 2 frontmen Brandon Ghorley - and Phinisey, and features drummer Josh Demorow, guitarist Phil Hopper, and a regular cast of favorite local musicians. A loyal regional following has grown as a result of The BGP's willingness to play literally anywhere, from Seattle, to LA, to Denver, to Boise, to Portland, and everywhere in between. The band also gained national recognition advancing to the Las Vegas round of America's Got Talent on two different seasons.
A successful Kickstarter campaign in 2018 led to the creation and release of The BGP's most recent collection of music entitled "HurtMeKissMe." The full length album features collaborations with Allen Stone and Clara, and was co-produced by Phinisey. Both 'Don't Cry' and 'American Dream' saw significant streaming on Spotify thanks to placements on featured playlists.
The band has opened for Andy Grammar and Allen Stone, and most recently played the mainstage of Neumos (Seattle) and showcased at NACA West. 3 new singles are set for release at the end of 2020.
