A TASTE OF MEXICO

A one night only class featuring tastings and cocktail instruction inspired by Giancarlo's appreciation for Tequila and his visits to the beautiful country of Mexico.

In this class, participants will discover what makes Tequila and how it's produced. In addition to hands on instruction in creating original tequila cocktails, this event will feature unique ingredients and flavors that are custom to Mexico. 

*Light snacks will be offered. Consumption of 1.5-2 cocktail equivalent expected. 

More About Giancarlo Aversa: Giancarlo has been the Principal Bartender at The Last Word Bar since it opened in 2012. As he got his start in the Ann Arbor bar scene in 2000, and has made some amazing stops aloing the way, he was a must-get for ownership in tying together their concept for what has become Ann Arbor's favorite hide out, The Last Word. 

Giancarlo has become a constant face in the World Class Bartending Competition and has represented Greater Detroit at the National Finals on numerous occasions. Aversa continues to be honored by his peers in the industry as has earned plenty of bartending titles not only locally but nationaling including his a recent feature in Beverage Media Group's 15 Bartenders to Watch in the US.

As a classically trained pianist, you can also catch Giancarlo on the keys with "The Pherotones" as they play jazz and pop in addition to their own reditions on classic themes on Thursdays at TLW.
