Come explore the stylish world of Film Noir as it lives in our own San Francisco! I’m taking what I learned directing L.A. Noir for Impro Theatre and mixing it into The City’s unique noir cocktail. We’ll work the “Fly in the Web,” model, where an innocent crosses the line into the dark, dangerous underworld. We’ll play Noir archetypes like Nob Hill matrons, salty cabbies, supper club canaries and Femme Fatales (those empowered females who outsmart, or enchant the men around them with glamour.) Learn how to use the tools of Space and Time via film techniques like close-ups/long shots, montage, flashbacks and Voice Over narration. Film sources include, The Maltese Falcon, The Line Up, The House on Telegraph Hill and Dark Passage. F4 required.

BATS Improv Class Refund Policy

• If you cancel more than 96 hours (4 days) before a class begins, we will refund your tuition less a 15% processing fee.
• If you cancel within 96 hours (4 days) of your first class, or any time after your first class session, your tuition will be forfeit.

In the event that we cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, we’ll refund your tuition in full.
